manipulating a hexagonal form to provide varying seating arrangements creates an inclusive environment of public seating. Including a botanical pod provides natural screens, shade and scents that enhance the experience of visitors. the installation acts as a playful intervention transforming under-utilised spaces into a much needed place where people can relax and take time out, or explore and come together. produced from a recycled plastic terrazzo which we developed especially for this project. this project was created with studio yu and was a winning entry in the london festival of architecture’s city benches competition.
